To make this work, we are not going to use YouTube app. Instead We need to open YouTube website on safari browser.
- First open safari browser on your iPhone.
- Now open YouTube.com and play any video that you wish to minimize or play in the background.
- Lets search for NCS music. I am gonna play this video. as you can see, Video has started playing. Now pause the video.
- To enable desktop version of the website, tap on AA symbol on top left corner.
- From the available options, tap on Request desktop website.
- This will open desktop version of YouTube website.
- Lets play the video again.
- Now swipe up from the bottom of the screen. the video will stop playing.
- Now swipe down from the top and you will find something like a player.
- from here tap on play button and video will start playing again. Here you can even change the volume level.
Now even if you switch off the iPhone screen, the video will keep playing in the background. This is useful particularly if you are using any other app and still wish to listen to your favorite music and the best part is you don’t even need YouTube premium subscription to do this.
